Three Burned in Keraniganj Gas Line Explosion

Three workers suffered burn injuries following a sudden gas pipeline explosion in the Boroitala area of Keraniganj on Friday night.

The incident occurred at the residence of a local inhabitant, Arif Mia, while the workers were carrying out repair work on the gas line. The injured individuals have been identified as Rakib (14), Rajon (25) and Sumon (27). Following the blast their colleague Sajeeb assisted in rushing them to the hospital.

They were admitted to the emergency department of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery early Saturday morning. Dr. Shaon Bin Rahman the Resident Medical Officer of the institute, confirmed that 14-year-old Rakib sustained burns covering 17 percent of his body. The other two workers suffered less severe injuries.

Medical officials stated that while the exact depth of the burns for Rajon and Sumon is still being assessed due to ongoing medical dressings all three victims are currently stable and out of danger.
