State Minister for Finance Zonayed Saki has revealed the new government's plan to implement the long-awaited ninth pay scale for government employees.

During a meeting with employee leaders at the Secretariat on Tuesday (February 24), he said that government employees will get the pay scale. However, it will take some time for the new salary structure to be fully implemented.

The meeting held at the State Minister's office was attended by Bangladesh Secretariat Service Association President and Deputy Secretary Md. Abdul Khalek and Bangladesh Government Employees' Demands Realization Unity Council Coordinator MA Hannan and other top leaders.

After the meeting, MA Hannan said that the State Minister had listened to their demands seriously and assured them of implementation. Quoting the State Minister, he said that since Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had said so, you will get the pay scale gradually. However, it is not possible to implement everything right now, it will take some time. Please be patient.

No specific deadline for implementing the pay scale was mentioned in the meeting.

It is worth noting that the then interim government formed a pay commission on July 27 last year. The commission submitted its recommendations on January 21 this year, which are currently under the government's consideration.
