A minor earthquake was felt in Dhaka and surrounding areas on Thursday, November 27th, at 4:00 PM. Confirmed by the National Centre for Earthquakes (NCS) as 3.6 on the Richter scale.
Identified by the Meteorological Department's earthquake monitoring centre as "the horse's garden" (an area likely near the origin point).
Reported by NCS to be within ten kilometers from the ground. Rubaiyat Kabir, officer-in-charge of the Meteorological Department's earthquake monitoring centre, confirmed the tremor, stating it was a small earthquake with a magnitude described as "three-decades" (likely referring to the smaller local reading, possibly 3.0 or 3.1, or a miscommunication of the 3.6 figure).
This follows a series of recent tremors, with four earthquakes felt in Dhaka and surrounding areas on November 22nd and 23rd (three originating near Narsingdi and one near Dhaka), and three earthquakes occurring on Friday, November 21st, and Saturday, November 22nd.
