Global pop icon Shakira has officially teased "Dai Dai," the anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Colombian superstar shared a one-minute clip on social media recorded at Brazil’s iconic Maracanã Stadium, confirming the track will be released in full on May 14.
The high-energy track features Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy. In the teaser, Shakira is seen on the Maracanã pitch surrounded by dancers wearing the colors of various national teams.
The lyrics emphasize resilience and strength, while the chorus—"Dai, dai, we go, dale, ale, let's go"—mixes Italian and Spanish expressions for "Let's go" and "We can do it."
Shakira’s World Cup Legacy
This marks Shakira’s return to the World Cup stage, having previously provided the legendary anthem "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" for the 2010 tournament in South Africa and "La La La" for the 2014 event in Brazil. She also performed at the 2006 closing ceremony in Germany.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted across the United States, Mexico and Canada, is set to be the largest in history with 48 teams.
The tournament kicks off on June 11, 2026, with an opening match between Mexico and South Africa at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
