Justin Bieber returned to a major stage with a nostalgic headline performance at Coachella, marking his biggest live show in four years.
The 32-year-old singer delivered a stripped-back set on Saturday night, mixing new music with old hits that made him famous. He performed songs from his 2025 albums Swag and Swag II, before revisiting earlier tracks and asking the audience: “How far back do you go?”
In a unique segment, Bieber sat with a laptop on stage and played his older songs through YouTube, including Baby and Never Say Never. He sang along and encouraged the crowd to join in, recreating the platform where he was first discovered as a teenager. He also showed early home videos that launched his career.
The performance included guest appearances from The Kid Laroi, Wizkid, Tems and Dijon.
Bieber’s wife Hailey Bieber was seen in the audience along with Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.
The show followed a difficult period in the singer’s career. In 2022 Bieber cancelled his Justice world tour after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome which caused facial paralysis.
His Coachella set contrasted sharply with the previous night’s headline act Sabrina Carpenter, who performed a high-production show with elaborate visuals and choreography.
The festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio California attracts over 100,000 visitors daily and runs across two weekends. Colombian singer Karol G is scheduled to headline the final night.
