To save electricity, the government has reinstated the rule requiring all shopping malls, markets, and shops across Bangladesh to close by 7 PM. The special Eid extension, which allowed businesses to stay open until 10 PM, has expired.

However, cinema halls and cineplexes are exempt from this directive. Theaters located inside shopping malls will remain open and continue screening movies as scheduled.

Awlad Hossain Ujjwal, President of the Bangladesh Film Exhibitors' Association, confirmed the exemption. "Before Eid, we applied to the Ministry of Information to keep cinemas out of the mall closure directive, and they approved our request," he said. "Viewers do not need to worry about accessing theaters located inside shopping malls."

Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Chief Marketing Officer of Star Cineplex, echoed this statement. He assured the public that the early closure of mall retail sections will not impact movie schedules. Audiences at Star Cineplex and other theaters nationwide can continue to enjoy the holiday releases uninterrupted.

Eight new movies are currently running in theaters across the country for the Eid season: Rockstar, Raid, Banlata Sen, Malik, Pinik, Officer, Masud Rana, and Tachnosh.
