Regarding the character of Jimmy Roy in Jazz City, Arifin Shuvo says, "Jazz City is a multi-dimensional story, where not only dialogue, but also music tells the story. The feelings and situations of the character emerge outside the dialogue. The whole atmosphere of Jazz City can be felt through the combination of music, dialogue and silence."
