


Bangladesh Bank has provided training to 80 young entrepreneurs from various banks and educational institutions in Chattogram to enhance their financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills.
The daylong workshop, held at the Bangladesh Bank Chattogram Office conference room, was organized as part of the central bank’s “Customer Service Fortnight” under the “Festival of Youth 2025” initiative.
Executive Director Mokbul Hossain attended the event as the chief guest, while Directors Md. Ashiqur Rahman, Md. Arifuzzaman, Swaroop Kumar Chowdhury, and Iqbal Mohsin were present as special guests.
Participants were briefed on various loan and investment facilities, including:
• 7% interest loans under the CMSME scheme, • Credit Guarantee Scheme, • 5% refinancing for women entrepreneurs, • 4% startup funding for innovative and tech-based ventures, and • 7% loans for agricultural product marketing.
Mokbul Hossain said the program aims to help promising young entrepreneurs overcome capital constraints, reduce unemployment, and boost domestic production to lessen import dependency.
The session, chaired by Director Md. Arifuzzaman, also included presentations on financial inclusion and SME financing, followed by an open discussion addressing participants’ queries and challenges in starting new ventures.
