A young man named Md. Akbar (35) lost his life after being attacked by an assailant outside his residence in Halishahar, Chattogram city.

He was the son of Md. Abdur Rahman from the locality. He leaves behind a wife and three children. Reports indicate that he was employed at a scrap shop. The incident occurred around 10:15 pm on Friday (November 7) in the Maijpara area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Halishahar police station.

Witnesses reported that a group of 4-5 assailants arrived on a motorcycle and ambushed Akbar near his home, attacking him mercilessly with sharp knives and machetes before fleeing the scene. Akbar fell to the ground in a pool of blood. Subsequently, local residents came to his aid and transported him to Chattogram Medical College (CMCH) Hospital.

Nurul Alam Ashek, the officer in charge of the police outpost at Chattogram Medical College Hospital, confirmed that a young man with stab wounds was brought in from the Halishahar area. The doctor in the emergency department assessed his condition and pronounced him dead.
