An adult Chitra (spotted) deer was safely rescued from a residential area in Bhola's Manpura Upazila on Friday afternoon.

The deer was secured by local residents in the Banglabazar Batankhali area of Dakshin Sakuchia Union at around 2:30 PM. According to witnesses, the animal was spotted wandering through the locality. When it showed no signs of returning to the wild, locals safely captured it and immediately notified the Forest Department.

Officials from the Manpura Pachakoralia Forest Beat promptly arrived at the scene and took the uninjured deer into their custody.

Authorities suspect the deer was swept into the residential area by rising tidal waters from the Meghna River, which frequently breaches the borders of the upazila's reserved forests.

Sajib Sarkar, the Pachakoralia Beat Officer, confirmed the animal's safe recovery. "This is a fully grown adult deer. After recovering it from the scene, we observed it closely and found it to be completely healthy," he stated.

The Forest Department announced plans to release the rescued deer back into its natural habitat in the Charpatalia Reserve Forest later that same afternoon.
