The Upazila Agriculture Department launched a digital app-based farmer registration program in Daulatkhan on Thursday (July 16) aiming to streamline government services and ensure agricultural subsidies reach genuine farmers.
The initiative began with data collection from farmers in wards 7, 8, and 9 of Charkhalifa Union during an inaugural event at a local residence.
Once registered through the app, farmers will receive a dedicated identification card. According to Upazila Agriculture Officer Humaira Siddika, this card unlocks access to 10 distinct government services, including direct cash assistance, agricultural inputs, and low-interest loans.
To prioritize transparency, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Abdul Matin Khan delivered a stern warning against corruption. Speaking as the chief guest, he emphasized that the cards must only go to legitimate agricultural workers.
“Legal action will be taken against anyone who resorts to irregularities, illegal business, or fraud regarding these cards,” Khan stated.
The launch event was attended by local leaders and agricultural committee members, including Upazila BNP President Md. Abdul Mannan Mia, Sramik Dal Senior Vice President Shahabuddin Member, and Charkhalifa Union BNP Member Secretary Idris Member.
