The Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) hosted a certificate distribution and job fair for its 2025-26 trainees at the Pabna Skill Development Training Center.
Pabna Deputy Commissioner Aminul Islam attended as the chief guest, with BSCIC Deputy General Manager Shamim Hossain presiding. During the ceremony, certificates were awarded to 320 trainees across 16 batches.
Addressing the youth, Deputy Commissioner Islam highlighted the scale of the national employment challenge. “About 1.5 million people enter the job market in Bangladesh every year. Creating opportunities within our industrial sectors for these job seekers will accelerate the country’s economic development,” he said, urging young people to pursue self-employment and career growth through dedicated skill training.
The event drew strong support from the local business community. Prominent industrialists in attendance included Abid Hasan Dulal (Satta Flour Mill), Zahurul Islam Bachchu (Needy Food), Shakil Hossain (Ma Twisting Mill), and Kaiser Ahmed (AR Specialized Auto Rice Mill), alongside various industrial extension officials.
The job fair featured 10 recruiting organizations and received approximately 700 applications. Following on-the-spot interviews and screening, 15 candidates received immediate appointment letters.
