Political leaders raise objections against 86 polling centers in Chattogram

Political leaders have raised objections against 86 polling centers in 16 constituencies of Chattogram for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election. The Election Commission has scheduled a hearing on October 9 to address these objections. In total, there are 1,959 draft polling stations and 12,656 polling booths designated for these constituencies. Local leaders have raised objections to 86 polling stations, and the senior election officer of Chattogram district has already submitted these objections.

While no objections have been received for Chattogram-11 (Bandar-Patenga) and Chattogram-15 (Lohagara-Satakania part) constituencies, objections have been raised for the other constituencies in Chattogram. The highest number of objections that is - 18 have been received in Chattogram -12 (Patiya) constituencies. Following that, 10 objections were received in Chattogram -10 (Doublemooring-Halishahar-Pahartoli-Khulshi) constituencies. A total of 10 objections were submitted for Chattogram -8 (Boalkhali and Chandgaon) constituency. One objection each was submitted for Chattogram -2 (Fatikchhari), Chattogram -5 (Hathazari and Wards 1 and 2 of CCC), and Chattogram-6 (Raujan) constituencies. After resolving the objections, the final list of polling stations for the 16 parliamentary constituencies of Chattogram will be published on October 20. Chattogram District Senior Election Officer Md. Bashir Ahmed stated that the draft number of polling stations was published with a focus on the election, and political leaders raised objections to some of the centers. A hearing is scheduled for October 9 to address these objections, and revisions will be made if there are valid reasons.
