


Member of Parliament Biswas Jahangir Alam made a surprise inspection of the Kalia Upazila Food Warehouse on Wednesday afternoon to review the government’s ongoing paddy and rice procurement.
During the visit, the MP checked grain storage quality, stock levels, and overall management. He spoke with staff and emphasized that government grain procurement must remain strictly transparent and systematic.
"The main goal of the government's food procurement program is to ensure fair prices for our farmers," MP Jahangir Alam said. "We will tolerate no irregularities, middle-men exploitation or negligence. I urge all food department staff to carry out their duties responsibly and protect the interests of local farmers."
Food Inspector and Local Supply Depot (LSD) Officer Mohammad Bayzid Hossain briefed the lawmaker on current stock operations and standard safety protocols.
Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Jinnatul Islam, Upazila Food Controller Md. Hafizur Rahman, Kalia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Idris Ali and Upazila BNP General Secretary S. M. Wahiduzzaman Milu were also present during the inspection.
