


The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested a suspected drug dealer with two kilograms of Marijuana (marijuana) during a targeted raid in Faridpur city on Thursday morning.
The arrestee has been identified as 37-year-old Sumon Biswas, a resident of the Purba Goalchamat Khodabox Road area.
Acting on a confidential tip-off, a DNC team raided Sumon's residence around 11:00 am. During the search, officials recovered the contraband wrapped in polythene, leading to his immediate arrest and the seizure of the drugs.
Following the raid, a regular case was filed against the accused at the Faridpur Kotwali Police Station under the relevant sections of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018 (Amendment 2020).
DNC official Belayet Hossain confirmed the arrest, emphasizing the department's zero-tolerance policy. He stated that anti-narcotics drives are currently ongoing across the district and will be further intensified to eradicate the local drug trade.
