Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon stated on Wednesday that the government is fully committed to elevating the standards of the country’s higher education system.
Speaking at the IUT Excellence Award ceremony at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in Board Bazar, Gazipur, the Minister emphasized the university's pivotal role in developing human resources for OIC member states, including Bangladesh, through technical education, research, and capacity building.
Addressing the long-standing issue of academic delays, the Minister announced a new strategy to eliminate session jams. "We aim to streamline university admissions so that the academic calendar concludes by December 31," he said. "The irregularities of the past must be resolved."
Dr. Milon further noted that policy synchronization is underway to ensure students no longer lose years of their lives to administrative inefficiencies.
The event was presided over by IUT Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, who detailed the university’s progress in international cooperation and research. The ceremony concluded with honors being awarded for academic excellence and institutional development.
