Inauguration of the list of elderly allowance beneficiaries in the social security program

The list of elderly allowance beneficiaries has been inaugurated in eight upazilas under the social security program.

Today (October 28, 2025) morning, the Honorable Deputy Minister, Ministry of Social Welfare and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Sharmin S. Murshid, officially inaugurated the program as the chief guest through virtual.

Upazila Executive Officer Murshida Khatun presided over the inauguration of the list of elderly allowance beneficiaries in Balichand village of Upazila Sadar Union.

Deputy Director of the District Social Service Office Nur Mohammad, Assistant Director Mohtasin Molla, Upazila Social Service Officer Sadiqur Rahman Mandal were present at the time.

At the inauguration ceremony, the chief guest said that if the correct list of the elderly population is updated, the real beneficiaries will be able to come under the government allowance. This will further expand the social security net and the deprived people will be able to easily get government assistance.

He said that it is hoped that through this government program, new horizons will be opened in improving the living standards of the marginalized people of the country.
