Pabna District Administration and the Department of Environment seized eight hydraulic horns.

In a move to curb rising noise pollution, the Pabna district administration and the Department of Environment (DoE) conducted a joint mobile court operation at the Meril Bypass intersection on Thursday morning.

During the drive, authorities seized and destroyed eight banned hydraulic horns. These devices were found to be emitting sound levels far exceeding the legal limit. Executive Magistrate Himel Mia and DoE Inspector Abdul Momin led the operation, fining five vehicle drivers Tk 1,000 each for violating environmental regulations.

Officials from the Department of Environment stated that hydraulic horns pose a significant risk to public health, particularly for children and the elderly. They confirmed that similar campaigns will continue across the district to ensure a noise-free environment for residents.
