


A memorial service was held in Narail to honor Professor Munshi Hafizur Rahman, a prominent educationist, cultural organizer, former principal of Narail Government Victoria College, and president of Chitra Theater.
The event took place on Sunday (April 27) at 7:00 pm at Sultan Mancha in Narail town. It was organized by Chitra Theater to pray for the peace of his departed soul.
People from various sectors—including cultural activists, teachers, students, journalists, and local social and political figures—attended the program and shared memories of his life and work.
Chitra Theater founder and theater personality Kochi Khandaker said Professor Rahman devoted his life to education and culture. “His ideals will continue to inspire future generations,” he added.
Among others who spoke were Chitra Theater General Secretary Nazmul Hasan Liza, theater activist Milan Bhattacharya, Narail Press Club General Secretary Mahbubur Rashid Lablu, Sheikh Hanif, ANM Nazmul Haque, Sharful Alam Litu, Munshi Asadur Rahman, Shuvo Sarkar, and Md. Mohiuddin.
Speakers described Professor Rahman as a dedicated figure in education, literature, and cultural development in Narail. They emphasized the need to preserve and promote his work and values among the younger generation.
Professor Munshi Hafizur Rahman passed away on Friday (April 24) while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka. He had been suffering from age-related complications.
