


A government agricultural incentive program has launched in Muksudpur, Gopalganj, to boost crop production for the 2025–26 Kharif-1 season. The program was inaugurated Tuesday at the Upazila Parishad auditorium, organized by the upazila administration and the Department of Agricultural Extension.
Md. Selimuzzaman Selim, Member of Parliament for Gopalganj-1, attended as the chief guest. Special guests included Md. Abul Bashar Mia, Additional Deputy Director (Horticulture) of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Gopalganj.
Also present were BNP President Abdus Salam Khan and General Secretary Tarikul Islam Raju. Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman delivered the welcome address, while Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmud Ashiq Kabir presided over the event.
Under this initiative, small and marginal farmers received free high-quality seeds, chemical fertilizers, and modern equipment, including airflow machines. The support focuses on the cultivation of jute, Aus paddy, summer sesame, and mung beans.
MP Selimuzzaman Selim noted that the government is prioritizing agriculture to ensure national food security. He emphasized that these incentives reduce production costs and increase yields. Other speakers added that the initiative encourages farmers to utilize fallow land, improving both agricultural output and the local economy.
