Former joint secretary of Pabna district BNP, Abdul Halim Sajjad, who is seeking BNP nomination from Pabna-2 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, said that the party's policy makers have not yet announced anyone as a candidate.
Those who say that such and such have been given a green signal are making false claims to their supporters. The party will nominate those who have close ties with Trinamool leaders and activists in the future.
He said, considering that, I was a victim of attacks and cases during the Hasina government. I have stood by the party leaders and activists in difficult times. Therefore, based on my qualifications, I am expecting a sheaf of rice nomination from this constituency.
He made these remarks at a road meeting on Thursday (October 23) afternoon, after distributing leaflets and holding a colorful motorcycle procession demanding the national elections in February and the party's 31-point agenda announced by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
He said that the people of Sujanagar-Bera will jump in support of the party to whom they will give Dhaner Sheesh in the next election. He will work for him and win this seat with a huge vote. In preparation for the national elections in February, he has started campaigning in the field to encourage party leaders and activists and ordinary voters.
He also said that a party is seeking votes through the PR system. Those who want PR do not have public support. Small parties are seeking votes through the PR system due to their interests in the elections. The people of this country do not understand PR. Voters want to vote in the conventional system. Therefore, there is no point in making these demands. Under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, BNP will win the next election with a huge vote.
Earlier, around 12 noon, supporters took out a motorcycle procession with banners, festoons and banners from the old stadium (Kachari) grounds in Pabna's Sujanagar.
Present at the event were former general secretary of Sujanagar Municipality BNP Abdul Salam Mollah, president of Upazila Sramik Dal Abdul Mannan Mollah, former joint general secretary of Municipal BNP Mujibar Khan, BNP leaders Kazi Hannan, Panna Chowdhury, general secretary of Upazila Sramik Dal Babu Mollah, joint convener of District Volunteer Dal Keramat Ali, former joint organizing secretary of Upazila Jubo Dal Nabi Mollah, joint convener of Upazila Swechchhashevak Dal Shariful Islam, youth leader Arif Biswas, student leader Alam, Shakil and leaders and activists of Upazila BNP and its affiliates.
