A no-confidence motion has been filed against Nurul Alam Alamgir, Chairman of Patachhara Union Parishad (UP) in Ramgarh, Khagrachari, over allegations of corruption and administrative irregularities.

On Monday (March 16), Ward No. 4 Member Osman Gani submitted the formal complaint to Ramgarh Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Kazi Shamim. The motion was signed by nine UP members, including Mohammad Mohiuddin, Abdul Latif, and reserved seat members Shahena Akhtar, Parveen Akhtar, and Kusumbala Chakma.

According to the motion, a meeting held on March 11 at the UP office—chaired by Osman Gani—resulted in the decision to seek no-confidence. The allegations against Chairman Alamgir include:

Failure to hold regular monthly meetings. Mismanagement and "swindling" of government allocations. Collecting unauthorized fees beyond fixed VAT/IT rates. Nepotism in the distribution of relief materials.

Chairman Nurul Alam Alamgir, who is also the General Secretary of Ramgarh Upazila Awami League, denied the claims. "I am not officially aware of the motion, though I have seen reports on social media. All allegations are baseless," he stated.

Ramgarh UNO Kazi Shamim confirmed receipt of the document, stating, "We have received the no-confidence motion. An investigation will be conducted, and legal action will follow based on the findings."
