There have been reports of wreck and sabotaged of the Awami League office in the Dost Building adjacent to the New Market intersection in Chittagong City. Police and eyewitnesses said that a group of youths wrecker the fourth-floor office of the building after 2 pm on Tuesday and locked it.

Kotwali Police Station OC Abdul Karim said, "We heard last night that an office in the Dost Building was wreck and sabotaged. No one has complained to us until night. We have sent our mobile team there."

The office belongs to the Chittagong North District Awami League. A video of the vandalism there has been circulated on social media. In the video, a group of youths are wrecking a picture of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman outside the office. Arif Moinuddin, joint coordinator of the National Citizens Party (NCP) for Chittagong Metropolitan City, can be seen in the video.

Regarding the vandalism, Arif Moinuddin said, "We had information that people from the banned Chhatra League and Awami League were conducting activities in the office at night. That's why we went there. We found evidence of this when we went there. We broke the lock and entered the office and found it tidy. Everything was arranged. I saw tables, chairs and pan bins in a tidy condition. Later, the office was locked," he said.

After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5 last year, the Chittagong North District Awami League office was wreck and sabotaged by an angry mob.
