International Mother Language Day Observed at Bhawal Mirzapur College

International Mother Language Day and Shaheed Dibosh were observed at Bhawal Mirzapur College in Gazipur through a series of programmes.

On Saturday, the college, located in Gazipur Sadar upazila, organised activities including wearing black badges, laying wreaths at the Shaheed Minar, and holding essay and speech competitions.

In the morning, students and teachers paid tribute to the language martyrs by placing floral wreaths at the Shaheed Minar. A discussion meeting was later held to highlight the significance of the Language Movement and the importance of preserving the mother tongue.

The discussion was chaired by College Principal Mohammad Abdul Bari. Speakers included Assistant Professor of the Biology Department Md. Abul Hossain, Abubakar Siddique, AKM Sayem, Md. Zahidul Islam and Md. Arif Hossain.

At the end of the programme, prizes were distributed among the winners of the essay and speech competitions.
