A mobile court has fined a food manufacturing company Tk 1 lakh for producing mango drink powder without proper permission in Lakshmipur.

The drive was carried out on Thursday afternoon at the BSCIC Industrial Area of Lakshmipur. The operation was led by Executive Magistrate Jannatul Siddiqa, with District Food Safety Officer Sumadhu Chakraborty present.

According to the district administration, the company—Ashraf Food—was producing mango drink powder without a valid trade licence and approval from the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI). Inspectors also found that the company was using multiple logos and producing adulterated food and beverage products.

The owner of the company, identified as Shahin, was fined Tk 1 lakh. The adulterated products were seized and later handed over to the Food Safety Authority for further action.

Additional District Magistrate Md Mejba ul Alam Bhuiyan said the drive was conducted to protect public health. He added that such mobile court operations would continue regularly in the public interest.
