Eight new doctors joined Sariakandi Upazila Health Complex in Bogra today, Thursday (February 19). All of them were welcomed with flowers by the Upazila Health Complex. Since all of these new doctors are from Bogra district and Sariakandi Upazila, there is an atmosphere of relief and joy among the locals.

Recently, as per the instructions of the Health Department, they officially took charge at Sariakandi Upazila Health Complex. The doctors who joined are - Dr. Antar Saha, Dr. Rakibul Hasan, Dr. Sabiha Sultana, Dr. Sadia Naureen, Dr. Sajeeb Kumar Saha, Dr. Irene Akhter, Dr. Upma and Dr. Rezaul Karim.

It is learned that the Sariakandi Upazila Health Complex has been suffering from a shortage of doctors for a long time. Due to the shortage of doctors compared to the requirement, the authorities had to struggle to provide proper services to the patients. Especially, patients coming from remote char areas have had to suffer various hardships in getting medical services. It is expected that the medical services in the outpatient and inpatient departments of the hospital will be further strengthened with the joining of new doctors.

Local residents said that they believe that since their children have joined as doctors, they will play a more sincere and responsible role towards the patients.

Hospital sources said that the new doctors will soon start performing their duties in their respective departments. This will improve the quality of services in various departments including maternal care, child care, dental and emergency departments. The conscious people of the upazila believe that this joint joining of local doctors will bring positive changes in the health sector of Sariakandi Upazila and further ensure the right of the common people to receive medical treatment.
