


Tarique Rahman will address the nation for the first time as Prime Minister after the formation of the new government. His speech will be broadcast live on state-run media at 7 pm on Wednesday (February 18), a government statement said.
The speech will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television (BTV), Bangladesh Betar, and all private television channels, as well as social media.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman began the day's activities by paying tribute to the great martyrs of 1971 at the Savar National Memorial at 11 am.
After paying tribute, he stood and observed a minute of silence.
Then, Tarique Rahman, along with members of the cabinet, paid tribute to the brave martyrs of the great liberation war by laying wreaths at the memorial again.
Later, at around 12 noon, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman paid tribute to the martyred President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia at the tombs. And later, he paid tribute again with his cabinet members.
After paying tribute, the Prime Minister and her cabinet members participated in the prayer.
According to the scheduled schedule, after paying tribute, she will start her official activities at the Secretariat from noon. There, she will start her first official activities at the office designated for the Prime Minister in Building No. 1 (Ministry Building) from 12:30 noon. 12:30 noon: She will participate in an introduction and brief exchange of views with the officials of the Cabinet Division. 3:00 pm: The Prime Minister will hold a special meeting with the members of the new cabinet. This will be the first policy-making meeting of the new government. 4:00 pm: Tarique Rahman will exchange views with the secretaries of various ministries of the government. On the occasion of the Prime Minister's arrival today, the Cabinet Building and the relevant departments have been decorated in a new style. Security has been beefed up at every important place. Police, RAB and army members have been engaged in search and guarding since morning to ensure overall security. Earlier, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman took oath as the Prime Minister at a swearing-in ceremony held at the South Plaza of the Parliament House on Tuesday (February 17) afternoon. 49 ministers and state ministers took oath at the same event. President Md. Shahabuddin administered the oath to everyone.
