


Acting on behalf of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Mishkatul Islam Chowdhury Pappa, Joint Convener of Chattogram South District BNP, has provided financial assistance to two families affected by a recent fire in Banshkhali municipality.
The aid was distributed on Saturday evening during a visit to the fire-affected homes in Noapara area of Ward No. 3 under Banshkhali municipality. The assistance included cash and essential relief items.
Several BNP and affiliated leaders were present during the visit, including Advocate Nasir Uddin, former Cultural Affairs Secretary of the South District BNP; Fazlul Kader Chowdhury, former Joint Convener of the Upazila BNP; and Ahmed Sagir, Joint Secretary of the District Jubo Dal, among others.
During the event, Mishkatul Islam Chowdhury Pappa said, “The fire completely destroyed two families’ homes and belongings. Following the directive of our Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, we came forward to assist them. This small contribution cannot compensate their loss, but BNP will continue to stand by the people of Banshkhali in all circumstances.”
According to locals, the fire occurred on October 12 around 4 p.m., destroying the houses of Nur Ahmad and Mohiuddin. The estimated loss is reported to be over Tk 2 million.
