Energy advisor's phone number hacked

The official phone number of Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, has been compromised. The Advisor issued an urgent warning on Monday (February 2) via his verified social media profile to alert the public.

In a Facebook post, the Advisor stated: "My phone number has been hacked. I am not asking for any financial assistance. Please ignore any such requests. Thank you."

The alert comes amid concerns that hackers may use his identity to solicit funds or sensitive information from citizens and officials. The Advisor, who also holds the portfolios for the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and the Ministry of Railways, urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious communication from his number.

Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan was appointed to the interim government on August 16, 2024. Security agencies have reportedly been notified to investigate the breach and restore the security of his communication lines.
