Global Handwashing Day Observed in Sariakandi

Global Handwashing day was celebrated in Sariakandi Upazila, Bogura, with the important theme: "Be the Handwashing Hero." The observance included a rally, a handwashing demonstration, and a discussion meeting aimed at raising public awareness and promoting innovation.

On Tuesday, October 15, at 10:30 AM, a rally commenced from the Upazila Parishad premises and circled the area. Following the rally, a handwashing demonstration involving students was held in front of the Upazila Parishad building.

The discussion meeting, jointly organized by the Upazila Administration and the Department of Public Health Engineering, was presided over by the Sariakandi Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Atikur Rahman. The meeting was moderated by Jahangir Alam, Mechanic of the Upazila Public Health Engineering Department. Speakers included Upazila Public Health Engineering Assistant Engineer Nuni Gopal Singha.

Also present were Primary Education Officer Sheikh Mahtabur Rahman, Social Services Officer Abdul Alim, Youth Development Officer Abdur Sabur, Project Officer Rashedul Islam, local journalists, and students from two schools. Bangladesh Red Crescent provided overall support for the event.
