The National Citizen Party (NCP), the Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party), and the Bangladesh Rastro Sangskar Andolan have officially formed a new political alliance named "Gonotantrik Songskar Jote" . This alliance was launched ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, which is scheduled for February 2026.
The alliance was formally announced at a press conference held at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) at 5:00 PM today. Initially, the alliance consists of three parties: the NCP, the AB Party, and the Bangladesh Rastro Sangskar Andolan.
NCP Convener Nahid Islam is serving as the spokesperson for the new platform. According to Nahid Islam, the "forces of the July uprising" will contest the upcoming election under a single symbol through this alliance.
The alliance is open to any other party that aligns with the "spirit of the July uprising" or is interested in state reforms. AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Monju stated that the primary aim of the Jote is to coordinate as a platform for political reforms.
The NCP Convener acknowledged that their previous attempts to reach an understanding with older political parties regarding state reforms were a "mistake," signifying a new, independent path for the allied parties.
