14 Nazrul University Students Nominated for Prime Minister’s Gold Medal

Fourteen students of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) have been nominated for the Prime Minister’s Gold Medal for 2019, 2020 and 2021.

The students are among 469 nominees included in the final list published by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh.

For the 2019 award, four JKKNIU students have been nominated: Monisha Hajong of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies, Sandip Debnath of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Umme Salma Toma of the Department of Finance and Banking, and Jarmina Rahman of the Department of Economics.

The 2020 nominees are Nishat Nigar Nishi of the Department of Music, Md Nazmul Karim Reza of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Antu Dey of the Department of Human Resource Management, Md Mainul Alam of the Department of Public Administration and Governance Studies, and Tania Akter of the Department of Law and Justice.

For 2021, the nominees are Sayeda Tasnim of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies, Mitu Akter of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Nabila Akter Mim of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, Md Atiur Rahman of the Department of Public Administration and Governance Studies, and Antar Pal of the Department of Fine Arts.

The Prime Minister’s Gold Medal is awarded to encourage meritorious students in higher education and recognise their academic achievements. The UGC has been awarding the medal since 2005.
