Free distribution of fertilizer and seeds to marginal farmers in Shantiganj

The Shantiganj Upazila Agricultural Extension Department of Sunamganj district has launched a program aimed at providing 20 kg of fertilizer and 5 kg of paddy seeds at no cost to 2800 small and marginal farmers.

This initiative is designed to enhance productivity through the cultivation of Boro (Ufshi) paddy as part of agricultural incentives for the financial year 2025-26.

The inauguration took place on Tuesday, November 11, at 10:30 am, led by Shantiganj Upazila Executive Officer Sukanta Saha at the Shantiganj Upazila Parishad premises.

In attendance were Upazila Agriculture Officer Ahsan Habib, Upazila Engineer Sajedul Alam, Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Mofazzal Hossain, General Secretary of Shantiganj Press Club Sohel Talukder, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Abul Kalam, Umayed Noor, among others.
