Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has accused an unnamed political party of attempting to derail the upcoming national election, stating that the same party had previously been "chanting for elections."
Speaking at a rally at Alia Madrasah ground in Sylhet today (December 6), Rahman asserted that those who are "looking for shortcuts to grab power should remember that the public has already shown them the red card."
He warned that those "emerging as new oppressors" will soon face difficulties. Rahman also alleged that while the "fascist rulers have fled," the shadow of fascism persists, claiming that "One group imposed fascism for 17 years, and now another group is trying to bring it back."
Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Ameer Mamunul Haque echoed the sentiment, claiming that "one party has completely lost its temper" after seeing their divisional programs and is "now conspiring to delay the election."
Islami Andolan Bangladesh Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim highlighted the massive turnout in their seven divisional rallies as proof of public support for their five-point demands.
Rezaul Karim stated that public aspirations for "state reform, justice for fascist leaders, and a fair election" following the July Uprising have been "buried," necessitating their return to the streets.
He added that voters will reject "those involved in extortion, corruption, and criminal activities" in the upcoming polls.
