


Cash assistance was distributed among 1,403 poor and distressed families on Sunday under a humanitarian initiative by the Faridpur District Council.
Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf MP attended the distribution program at the District Council premises as the chief guest. The event was chaired by District Council Administrator Afzal Hossain Khan Palash, with Chief Executive Officer Md. Bakahed Hossain, local dignitaries, and political representatives also in attendance.
According to District Council sources, the financial aid targeted vulnerable residents requiring medical assistance, religious observations (Milad), and basic humanitarian support. Individual beneficiaries received between Taka 1,000 and Taka 2,000 depending on their needs.
Speaking at the event, Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf MP emphasized that supporting the underprivileged is a fundamental social responsibility. He expressed his commitment to ensuring that the local government continues these welfare activities in the future.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the council, noting that the cash injection provides much-needed relief for their immediate medical and family expenses.
