


Eminent media personality and agricultural specialist Sheikh Siraj has presented the "Farmers' Budget" recommendations for the upcoming 2026-2027 fiscal year to Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury. The recommendations were officially handed over at the Secretariat on Saturday.
The proposals were compiled from the inputs and demands of marginal farmers across Bangladesh, gathered through Channel i’s popular agriculture program Hridoye Mati O Manush.
Upon receiving the document, the Finance Minister highlighted the government's plans for the agricultural sector, emphasizing a shift toward modernization.
"The government is focusing heavily on integrating modern information technology, including artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, into farming," the Finance Minister stated.
He assured that the agricultural sector would remain a top priority in the upcoming national budget, adding that as an elected administration, the BNP government is committed to adopting realistic policies based on direct feedback from citizens and professionals.
