Tribal Leader Ramlal Kujur Killed in Porsha Road Accident

Ramlal Kujur 40, a prominent tribal leader and local Awami League official, was killed after being struck by a motorized local hauler (Nachimon) on Wednesday afternoon.

Ramlal was the Organizing Secretary of the Porsha Upazila Awami League and former General Secretary of the local Jatiya Adivasi Parishad. He was the son of the late Rupchan of Kathpukur village.

According to local sources, Ramlal was returning home from Naogaon Court by motorcycle. As he reached the Barendra High School area in Chhaor Union, a steering-wheel-controlled "Nachimon" hit his motorcycle from behind. Ramlal fell onto the road, and the vehicle ran over his head, killing him instantly.

Police recovered the body and moved it to the station. Porsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaur Rahman confirmed that the body has been sent to the morgue for an autopsy.

The victim's brother, Jages Sardar, filed a formal complaint against the driver, Shirul (35), son of Dukhu Mia of Gomostapur, Chapainawabganj. Police have since arrested Shirul and seized the vehicle.
